How to Make Meetings Work for You & Your Team

Meetings are essential for enabling collaboration, creativity, and innovation. They often foster strong relationships and ensure proper information exchange. Here are four ways to ensure your team chat sessions are successful:

  1. Identify the reason for the meeting and communicate any essential information prior to sending out calendar invite so the team feels comfortable, not anxious or questioning

  2. Provide an agenda both in the email and in the invite. Make sure you follow along with it; it’ll keep you within your time limit, too

  3. Any prep work should be identified so expectations for everyone are out in the open. When people are prepared, more constructive conversations occur

  4. Follow up with notes and consider rotating note taking responsibilities. Reference to these note will be important to keep the workflow moving and get you ready for the next meeting!
